Sci-Fi Party Line goes back to Dragon Con

Dragon Con is just over TWO WEEKS AWAY and I am starting to feel excited. Once again, I will get to represent Sci-Fi Party Line as media. I will also be sitting on a few panels and for the first time, I get to be a judge for a costume contest! Bring it on! As of right now, I will be sitting on two panels each from the American SF & Fantasy Media and YA Lit Tracks. This is the information I have so far;…

Dragon Con adds guests from Dark Matter, DC TV universe and others

Last month Dragon Con picked up the pace on guest announcements, including some from shows/movies that are either on my “currently watching” or “need to watch/catch up” lists. From the SyFy show Dark Matter, guest announcements include Anthony Lemke, Jodelle Ferland, Roger Cross, and Zoie Palmer; who are known on the show as “Three”, “Five”, “Six”, and “The Android”, respectively. The show follows a group of amnesiacs who try to piece together who they are and why there were in stasis on an abandoned spaceship.…

Dragon Con has been making quite a few guest announcements over the past couple of weeks, and most of them feature one or more cast members from various shows. Today’s announcements feature three members of the cast of The CW’s sci-fi/dystopian series The 100: Jarod Joseph, Sachin Sahel and Lindsey Morgan. The 100 began as a show about survivors who lived on a space station after Earth’s atmosphere was destroyed by a series of nuclear bombs. Now that the space station survivors are back on Earth,…

Harry Potter‘s Chris Rankin announced for Dragon Con

FINALLY!!! Chris Rankin, who played the “Head-Boy-know-it-all” Weasley brother Percy in the Harry Potter films, has been announced as one of the latest additions to the Dragon Con guest list. Movie fans didn’t get to see much of Percy in the films, but book fans know that Percy’s “prodigal son” story arc was one of the great lessons taught in the series – about the importance of family, forgiveness, and unity. Chris is (so far) the only Harry Potter guest confirmed this year. Dragon Con…

Dragon Con 2014: “Growing Up to Save the World” panel

This year at Dragon Con 2014, I had the pleasure of participating in a fan panel titled, “Growing Up to Save the World.” The panel was featured on the Whedonverse track, and the discussion was about the teenage antagonists/protagonists associated in television, film, and literature, and the pressures and consequences they face when the responsibilities of saving the world fall at their feet. One of my co-panelists was Kevin Bachelder of the podcast Tuning Into Sci-Fi TV, and he recorded the panel live, and has now…
