‘Vampire Diaries’ stars confirmed for Dragon*Con

2 min read

You may as well call it the “Mystic Falls Takeover”. For the first time, it has been announced that most of the principal cast of the CW hit series “The Vampire Diaries” will appear at this year’s Dragon*Con convention, scheduled to take place Labor Day weekend in Downtown Atlanta.

Series regulars Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore), Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvatore), Kat Graham (Bonnie Bennet), Michael Trevino (Tyler Lockwood), Joseph Morgan (Klaus Mikaelson), and Candice Accola (Caroline Forbes) have all been confirmed to attend, via the official Dragon*Con website. They will take part in Q&A sessions, show panels, and limited autograph and photo op sessions. In addition to the stars’ appearances, Celebrity Authentics has announced that there will be a private autograph signing with star Nina Dobrev that weekend (who, due to personal scheduling conflict, has not been added to the Dragon*Con guest list). Celebrity Authentics has released ticket information for all of their stars (they also represent “Charmed” star Rose McGowan, who will also appear at Dragon*Con). Please note: These ticket prices are for pre-paid sales for autographs and photo opportunities, and are separate from Dragon*Con ticket pricing.

“The Vampire Diaries” premiered on the CW network in the fall of 2009, based on the series of books by author L.J. Smith. It tells the tale of Elena, a typical teenager who is the object of affection for a set of feuding brothers, who both happen to be vampires. Stefan and Damon Salvatore have a complicated history and their habit of falling for the same women has major consequences for Elena and the town of Mystic Falls. The end of season three saw the deaths (maybe?) of a few fan favorites, a few character surprises, and one very unexpected resurrection. The show, which is filmed outside of Atlanta in the city of Covington, just finished its third season; season four is scheduled to debut sometime in October and can be seen on the CW network on Thursday nights at 8pm.

Dragon*Con is the largest multi-media, popular culture convention focusing on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film. Every Labor Day weekend, about 40,000 people crowd the streets and take over the hotels of downtown Atlanta to meet friends, celebrities, cosplay and totally geek out. Spanning the lobbies, convention spaces and streets of five hotels, there is literally something for everyone at Dragon*Con. Ticket information can be found at this link.
